Aplix Solutions Reaches Distribution Agreement with Futuremark Corporation
To Provide Conformance Test Suite and Benchmark Software for OpenKODE®, OpenGL®ES, Open®VG and Other Futuremark Products in Japan and Asia Pacific
TOKYO, JAPAN April 24, 2007 Aplix Solutions, a joint venture company of Aplix Corporation (TSE: 3727) and Quattro Media Corporation, announced today that they have reached a distribution agreement with Futuremark Corporation, the leading provider of performance analysis software for handhelds and PCs, to provide a wide range of benchmarking software and services to operators and handset manufacturers in Japan and Asia Pacific.
As a contributing member of the Khronos Group for years and has previously developed benchmarks targeted to measure the performance of devices with software and hardware implementations of the OpenGL® ES, Open®VG and Java M3G, Futuremark is one of the few vendors engaged in developing products that support OpenGL® ES 2.0, and was selected by Khronos Group to develop the official conformance test suite for the OpenKODE® last December.
With this agreement, operators and handset manufacturers can now have a proper way to assure the compliance and quality of their products with OpenKODE® ,OpenGL®ES, and/or Open®VG APIs implementations by using Futuremark's "de-facto" benchmark software distributed through Aplix Solutions.
"The Agreement with Aplix Solutions, one of Aplix's subsidiaries, enables us to broaden our business opportunities in Japan and Asia Pacific," said Petri Talala, Vice President of Mobile Business Unit of Futuremark. "We have high expectations that Aplix Solutions will play a huge role in helping us fulfill our strategy in the Japanese and Asian market."
"I am delighted that we have signed the distribution agreement," added Masaaki Sekino, President of Aplix Solutions. "By working closely with Futuremark, a global leader of high performance benchmarking products, we can further assist our customers to develop and release high performance products into market in a timely manner."
