Futuremark Releases Consumer Version of SPMark™04 Benchmark for Symbian OS™ -based Mobile Phones

Saratoga, CA – November 22nd, 2004 – Futuremark Corporation, the leading provider of performance analysis software and services, today launched a consumer version of its SPMark™04 Smart Phone benchmark. SPMark™04 has become the industry’s most widely used testing tool for Symbian OS-based smart phones and is rapidly becoming the de-facto performance measurement standard for mobile platforms.
SPMark™04 provides a comprehensive application for measuring and comparing the performance of mobile devices. Its benefit to the industry is to allow consumers, media, retailers, and operators to objectively compare different mobile phones. Mobile phone manufacturers use SPMark™04 to reliably evaluate and compare various semiconductor implementations.

SPMark™04 consumer version measures the performance of Series 60 and UIQ based smartphones and includes visually stunning 3D game play tests using the OpenGL ES graphics API. For mobile phones without hardware OpenGL ES implementation, the benchmark includes Hybrid Graphics' OpenGL ES API Implementation.
