    New NPUs supported by Procyon AI Benchmark

    Over the last few years, the capabilities of AI and how it can improve our daily lives have exponentially grown. A device’s ability to perform AI tasks is quickly becoming just as important as CPU and GPU performance, with dedicated neural processing units (NPUs) making it into consumer products in recent years.

    The race for more efficient and powerful AI processing has become increasingly competitive as major tech industry companies enter the market with their own NPUs. Over the last two years, we launched the UL Procyon® AI Inference Benchmarks for Android and Windows to answer the demand for reliable and objective ways to compare AI processing performance.

    With our recent update to the UL Procyon AI Inference Benchmark for Windows, we added support for testing the inference performance of NPUs supported by the Intel OpenVINO AI Inference Engine.
